ConnectVA unifies and redesigns ConnectRichmond and ConnectSouthside, building on the successful legacy of the Connect system, built specifically for our community. The new website offers the same useful services you value - jobs, events, items, and message boards - with enhancements that make using ConnectVA easier than ever before. New, improved features better connect you to other users, organizations and businesses as well as nonprofit resources and information across Central Virginia.
ConnectVA continues as a nonprofit and civic hub that provides information-sharing tools and resources to empower individuals, advance organizations, and strengthen community - learn more.
All current and new Connect users need to register on the new ConnectVA website and create new organization profiles. There will be no user data migration from the current websites to the new website. This process will allow you to start fresh on the new system - customizing your profile and familiarizing yourself with the new website while avoiding any duplications. Beginning January 16, 2013, ConnectVA implemented a $30 per job posting per month. Job postings expire after 30 days and can be renewed. This nonial amount ($1 a day!) helps ConnectVA continue to provide the Job Finder and our other valuable services to nonprofit organizations like yours. We are the "go to" place for nonprofits jobs in the region and are committed to helping your organization find the professional expertise and talent needed.
Message Board (Email Groups):
We know that our email groups have become an indispensable means of communication for the Connect community. We also know that they could use improvement so that messages are easier to send, approve and read. That is why ConnectVA will feature a new Message Board that's visually appealing, easy-to-use and eliminates the need for a moderator!
We will communicate with all the email group moderators and subscribers before we transition to the Message Board. All current email groups will remain active during the new website's initial launch phase until they are disabled and replaced with the Message Board in May 2013.
Nonprofits searching for businesses and consultants who provide services to nonprofits will be able to search the ConnectVA Business Directory. Businesses who provide services to nonprofits can register for a listing in the ConnectVA Business Directory beginning in April 2013. There are two levels of business listings, free basic and fee premium.
In December, ConnectVA was soft launched. We will assist the community in getting registered and using the new system and start the transition away from the current ConnectRichmond and ConnectSouthside websites.
During the first quarter of 2013, ConnectVA will phase in additional resources and complete site transition away from ConnectRichmond and ConnectSouthside. We will provide ongoing training opportunities through various online webinars.
