EMAIL INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN A RESEARCH STUDY
The New Old Boys Club: A Phenomenological Study Examining Upper Level Female Leaders in Nonprofit Organizations Principal Investigator
You are invited to participate in a study being conducted by Solange K. R. Charles, MIB, a doctoral candidate in the School of Leadership, Education & Communication at St. Thomas University, Miami, Florida. The purpose of this study is to gain further understanding of the barriers faced by women pursuing professional advancement into upper-level leadership opportunities. As a leader or non-leader within the State of Florida, you have been identified as an ideal participant to provide first-hand, lived experiences regarding the subject topic. The study is an informal two-part process, consisting of one 10 – 15 minutes survey and one 30 – 50 minutes telephone/in-person interview session. We are simply trying to capture your thoughts, perspectives and lived experiences on being a leader or non-leader within the Florida non-profit industry. Your responses to the questions will be kept confidential. Each interview will be assigned a number code to help ensure that personal identifiers are not revealed during the analysis and write up of findings. There is no compensation for participating in this study. However, your participation will be a valuable addition to our research and findings could lead to greater public understanding of the barriers faced by women pursuing professional advancement into upper-level leadership opportunities. If you are willing to participate, please suggest a day and time that suits you and I will do my best to be available. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
