As a design and marketing resource for a number of nonprofit organizations I am often asked to teach owners how to do some basic design tasks, with the goal of conserving marketing dollars and expediency. A great local resource is a design class at John Tyler Community College. I teach design at the Chester campus and have a number of adult learners and several from local nonprofit organizations. It’s an affordable solution for nonprofits and if the learner is over age 62, it can be free. It likely won’t eliminate the need for a professional designer, but will enable organizations to add a valuable competency.
