Changing the Odds: Virginia Youth Development Conference

January 24 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

| Free

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond has worked with nationally recognized Forum for Youth Investment to co-design an engaging agenda focused on what it will take to change the odds for children and youth in Virginia. This interactive day of shared learning combines keynotes, workshops and roundtable discussions to explore why and how youth organizations can do more to support youth success. Conference faculty includes nationally recognized speakers and facilitators from the Forum for Youth Investment: Karen Pittman, Merita Irby, Larry Pasti, and Priscilla Little. Bringing state and local perspectives to the conversation are Nancy Deutsch, director of Youth-Nex at UVA’s Center to Promote Effective Youth Development at the Curry School of Education, and Candy Markman, retired planning director for Afterschool Initiatives for the Nashville Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth.

The Changing the Odds: Virginia Youth Development Conference, sponsored by Altria, is best suited for CEOs, executive directors, board members and senior leadership for youth development organizations within Virginia. The conference is free to attend, but advance registration is required as space is limited. For more information, visit www.bgcmr.org/ydc2019
