Free Training: Domestic Violence & the Faith Community

January 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

| FREE

James House is partnering with the Community Coalition of Sussex to host a free training session: Domestic Violence & the Faith Community. The training will take place on Saturday January 12, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (check in begins at 9:45 am) at New Hope Baptist Church 18183 Old Forty Road, Waverly, VA 23890. A screening of the Faith Trust Institute film “Broken Vows Religious Perspectives on Domestic Violence will be followed by a round table discussion. According to Dr. Ray S. Anderson, Professor of Theology and Ministry, Fuller Theological Seminary, “Broken Vows is simply the best resource available for religious communities to use in awakening people to the devastating effects of abuse. (It) is biblically sound, ecumenically balanced, and pastorally sensitive. It out to be used in every church and synagogue in the land.”
Light refreshments will be available. Registration for planning purposes is requested but not required. To register visit https://faithdvtng.eventbrite.com or contact Jane at (804) 458-2704 or jane@thejameshouse.org
