Lora M. Robins Speaker Series Presents Hugh Vasquez
November 3 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am| $50
The second session of this year’s series
EQUITY: FROM CONCEPT TO ACTION
Join us as we explore equity, what it means, how it affects us and most importantly, how we can implement practices that yield thriving communities.
Community leaders have the desire and charge to increase opportunities for families and children, yet often efforts are dampened by systemic inequities based on race, gender and economic status. These are not issues of the past.
This year the Lora M. Robins Speaker Series will present three nationally known thought leaders who will share their perspectives on the persistence and widening of racial and class inequities in education, the workplace, and throughout society. Join us in moving from aspirational ideas to ACTION.
HUGH VASQUEZ / CREATING CONDITIONS FOR EQUITY
Join us for a workshop with one of the country’s top equity and diversity educators as we work to create change in a world that pays special attention to race, gender, socio-economic status, and other general classifications of the population. We can only transform systems when we are conscious to the current conditions of our culture as well as the history that shaped them. Get ready to move from words to action as this session both challenges and equips you to put knowledge into practice towards equity.
