Partnership for the Future: The College Admission Race

November 9, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

| Free

This free community workshop is for high school freshmen and sophomores in the Richmond metro area who are interested in attending college. During this fun and interactive session, we will explore and demonstrate the various academic situations and variables that can impact admission decisions.

The ECMC College Place College Admissions Race is an engaging and fun game that walks students through a mock college admissions committee review process. Students will learn that the holistic admissions process considers criteria beyond grade point average (GPA) and college entrance exam scores, including rigor of academic program, personal qualities, extracurricular involvement, and quality of application materials.

This activity is for students to better understand what the admissions process looks like from a college’s perspective. We will also be sharing tips & tricks on ways to stand out and be more competitive during the college application process.

Partnership for the Future is committed to equipping high-achieving students with the tools to be successful in college and beyond. We are thrilled to share some of our effective tactics with the community during this event.
