Richmond CASA Volunteer Information Session
August 13 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Learn how you can become a Court Appointed Special Advocate and make a difference in a child’s life.
Children in our community are waiting for someone like you to speak up for their best interests. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for children who have been abused or neglected. They make sure the child’s needs are heard – in the community and in the courtroom – and serve as a caring, consistent adult in a child’s life. Children in foster care who have a CASA volunteer are more likely to succeed in school and adjust to change. And they’re half as likely to re-enter the foster care system later. As a volunteer, you can make all the difference for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect. Get involved, and change a child’s story.
Richmond CASA will be hosting 2 virtual information sessions for potential volunteers. You will have the opportunity to learn how CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected. Two current volunteers will be there to speak about their experiences and answer questions. Please join us via Zoom on Monday, July 27 or Thursday, August 13 from 6-7 pm.
