Virtual Information Session: Become a Child Advocate

January 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

| Free

YOU can change a child’s story. Learn more about volunteering to be a voice for vulnerable children experiencing abuse or neglect.

Henrico CASA activates trained volunteers to help our county’s most vulnerable children thrive in safe, loving homes. Will you join us in our mission to ensure every child that has experienced abuse or neglect has a voice?

Volunteers advocate for children aged from newborn to eighteen. Advocates come from all walks of life including a variety of professional and educational backgrounds. No special experience is required.

This virtual information session is the first step in learning more about volunteering as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) on behalf of a vulnerable child. Prospective volunteers must apply by January 9, 2023 to be considered for the winter 2023 training session. The application process includes an interview, being fingerprinted, and the completion of a criminal background check and reference checks.

New volunteers participate in forty hours of free training before being sworn in at the Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
