Workplace Inclusion Network: “Taboo Conversations at Work”
January 22 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm| Various membership levels
Session #1: In today’s highly-divisive social climate and hyperactive social media world, traditionally “taboo” topics such as race, religion, and politics are coming up more frequently in the workplace. When these crucial conversations are well-facilitated and occur with respect, we lessen the risk of negatively impacting employee morale, engagement, and productivity. During this session, participants will explore identity and build skills to talk about the hard stuff at work more effectively.
Through the Workplace Inclusion Network (WIN), the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities convenes professionals who support or lead diversity and inclusion efforts within their organizations. These gatherings provide a unique opportunity for D&I leaders to hear from experts in the field and share best practices with one another while networking with professionals from across the region. Participants/Organizations must be registered for all 5 sessions.
