    Dear Central Virginia Community Partners,

Earlier this year, Capital One announced the Capital One Impact Initiative. A five-year $200 million commitment to support growth in underserved communities and advance socioeconomic mobility by closing gaps in equity and opportunity. The Impact Initiative builds upon Capital One’s core mission to change banking for good, and its priorities around racial equity, affordable housing, small business support, workforce development and financial well-being.

The Capital One Impact Initiative is focused on creating a world where everyone has an equal opportunity to prosper by advocating for an inclusive society, building thriving communities and creating financial tools that enrich lives.

To advance this strategy locally in Central Virginia, Capital One seeks to better understand programs and resources that leverage housing as a critical asset for personal and financial well-being.

We are interested in hearing from organizations who are developing programming in at least one of the following areas:

    • Programs that drive personal and financial well-being through housing stability
    • Programs that pair housing stability with support services. Support services could include:
    • Workforce development, financial well-being, mental and physical support, and/or additional resources to create upward socioeconomic mobility.

All applications must be submitted by 5:00 pm on September 3rd, 2021.

    • The maximum grant amount will be $100,000 and minimum will be $50,000
    • This grant is a one-time investment and should not be contingent on future support from Capital One.
    • You do NOT have to be a current Capital One grant-funded organization to participate.
    • Organizations’ work and programs must be geographically tied to the City of Richmond, Henrico County, Chesterfield County, Goochland County, Hanover County, or Colonial Heights.

Our Capital One online application system will allow you to share key information about your nonprofit organization, programs, clients served, and the valuable community services you provide. We are also interested in hearing from applicants how Capital One can utilize our most valuable asset – talent – to drive social change through volunteerism partnerships. Below are the instructions and details on how to apply.

We’ll also be offering an opportunity to ask questions about the competitive grant opportunity on Friday, August 20th from 9 am to 12 pm. If you’d like to attend to learn more, please respond via email and you’ll be added to a calendar invitation with Zoom dial in.

Please reach out to Jamie Seagraves – with any questions.
