Get HandsOn: Doing Good is Good For You

A recent study found that volunteering improves physical, emotional, and mental health with 78% of folks reporting a decrease in their stress level and 94% reporting improved mood.

Help your community and feel better at the same time? Talk about a win-win!

Join a thousand other volunteers across the metro region for HandsOn Day this fall on October 18, 2014 to make a difference in our community. Volunteer sign-ups will begin in September.

Calling all Nonprofit Partners! HandsOn Greater Richmond will connect your organization to a volunteer team ready to paint, build, sort, sew, stuff, organize, clean, rake….you name it! They’ll recruit the volunteers, provide a Project Captain to help supervise, and assist with project logistics on the day of the vent — all at no cost! Many projects can also receive funds (up to $350) to help purchase project supplies to engage volunteers.

Need ideas for a HandsOn Day project? Attend Brown Bag Brainstorming on Thursday, June 28th from 12:30pm – 1:30pm — event is free but space is limited.
