Site-based mentoring brings mentors (Bigs) and youth (Littles) together in schools and after-school programs throughout Greater Richmond & Tri-Cities. Bigs + Littles meet for an average of 1 hour/week during the school year. Matches participate in mutually beneficial activities to build social skills, achieve academic success and create healthy lifestyles.
Military Mentoring is open to middle school youth who are military dependents in Norfolk Public Schools. Mentors (Bigs) and youth (Littles) meet at the Little's school for an average of 1 hour/week during the school year. The goals of the Military Mentoring program are to reflect military values, build social skills, achieve academic success and create healthy lifestyles.
Community-based mentoring is based on building caring, consistent and compassionate relationships between mentors (Bigs) and youth (Littles). Bigs + Littles meet weekly for an average of 9 hours/month. Bigs + Littles pick activities based on mutual interests and the goals of building social skills, achieving academic success and creating healthy lifestyles. Bigs are asked to commit for a minimum of one year.
