Director of Preservation Initiatives and Engagement The Director of Preservation Initiatives and Engagement is responsible for managing and directing Preservation Virginia’s advocacy and public policy program. The position supports the organization’s exploration of new approaches to preservation by engaging diverse communities and connecting historic sites and resources to today’s activities. The director will implement the comprehensive advocacy plan for the organization; related programming includes the Most Endangered Historic Places, Preservation Awards and educational seminars and conferences, and develop publications, action alerts and other written communications. The director manages a team of two professionals and works collaboratively with the marketing, development and museum operations team. The director works to raise awareness among developers, government officials, partner organizations and communities to find solutions that preserve history and allow for growth and development. .
