RxP improves access to health care for the medically underserved in the state by providing critical prescription medications for low-income, uninsured patients living at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and up to 400% in certain circumstances. Based in Richmond, VA, Rx Partnership (RxP) seeks to address the critical health need of access to care by specifically increasing the speed, efficiency and types of medication available. RxP accomplishes this through two separate programs: RxP’s Core Pharmaceutical Services Program, which provides access to medication for clinics with pharmacies – mostly brand name medications, but recently key generics as well; and RxP’s Access to Medication Program (AMP), which provides access to affordable generic medications and brand as-needed to clinics without pharmacies. Since 2003, RxP has provided 800,000 prescriptions to 75,000 patients with a retail value of more than $215 million and in the past year alone 12,206 uninsured individuals received 59,407 prescriptions with a retail value of $24 million from Rx Partnership.
