A Day in the Life of:

As a member of our Executive team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Compliance & Case Management functions of SOAR365. This includes overseeing a a broad spectrum of mandated administrative functions required by various federal, state, and local laws and regulations including consumer affairs, quality monitoring/audits, external advocacy, incident reporting, risk management, and investigations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for overall Agency compliance with guidelines and requirements of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Human Rights and Licensure Regulations, CARF accreditation, Camp America accreditation, and other relevant local, state and federal regulations.
  • Directs the internal audits of client records in all programs for compliance with regulations, billing accuracy, diagnosis, assessments, and timeliness/efficiency of documentation. These audits shall be a representative sampling of Client Records within all programs for:
    • completeness of admission documentation, individual service plans (ISP), quarterly reviews, annual reviews, consent documentation, medical/behavioral documentation, and discharge planning documentation
    • conformity with standardized record-keeping requirements;
    • consistency with billing and reimbursement activity; and
    • conformance with licensure, Medicaid/Medicare, accreditation standards and SOAR365 policies and procedures.
  • Directs investigations into complaints/incidents associated with human rights, licensure, Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other federal/state regulatory requirements or situations of actual or potential risk and liability to SOAR365.
  • Provides oral and written reports of investigative findings or status reports and recommendations for correction; makes appropriate reports to the Executive Management Team, CEO, Board of Directors, and outside agencies.
  • Functions as the Agency Privacy Officer and educates and advises team on HIPAA requirements. Serves as resident expert on HIPAA compliance and security.
  • Interprets, develops, and implements updates to SOAR365 policies and procedures related to regulatory or payor changes on federal, state and local level.
  • Works directly with Program Directors, Managers, Supervisor, Coordinators and other personnel to provide consultation, education, training, as well as policy and procedural development as needed for specific program areas.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and review of Compliance/Quality Assurance policies and procedures and quality management systems.
