Operations Manager The Virginia Early Childhood Foundation is looking for an operations manager to help manage its programs as it grows. A successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, think strategically, manage stakeholders, plan effectively and create and implement new systems of operations which will allow the organization to go further faster. Working out of our conveniently located office in Richmond, Virginia, this person must be able to think in the big picture and love getting into the details. They will be responsible for facilitating (and in some cases creating) internal and external reports for VECF, envisioning and implementing a master calendar of events, creating, evaluating and updating operational systems and creating smooth budgeting processes. This will empower program staff to go further faster (improved school readiness with more efficiency). This person will have significant exposure to VECF executive leadership and professional development opportunities. They will also need to be ready to grow professionally within the organization, as VECF has recently experienced tremendous growth and needs to scale its operations. Job responsibilities: ● System management and evaluation - Increase efficiency in our existing systems (such as Foundant, DonorPerfect, SharePoint and manual systems) and evaluate if and when the organization needs to upgrade its systems. ● Reporting - facilitate and submit some of the required reports from ~8 programs to many VECF stakeholders, which includes VECF executive leadership, Virginia state government, VECF Board of Directors, regional early childhood leaders, auditors, clients and any other constituents. Facilitate the receiving of reports from the many VECF stakeholders, including grant recipients, Smart Beginnings organizations, contractors and others. ● Envision and Implement the Master Calendar - VECF manages a number of grants, conferences, events and other activities, all of which needs to be appropriately organized and tracked for start dates, progress deadlines. ● Budget Administration - Create effective invoicing, distribution and receipting systems for VECF to receive and distribute funds to 1,000+ individuals and organizations. ● Operations Analysis and Problem Solving - Examine the current operations of VECF, identify under-utilized resources and find ways to improve such that VECF can more efficiently accomplish its mission. ● HR Operations- Managing new staff recruiting, staff onboarding and offboarding, benefits policies and other people functions.
