The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an Accounting Assistant to provide financial and administrative services in its Finance and Support Services Division. Responsibilities include processing vendor payment vouchers, employee expense reimbursements, researching transactions; preparation of general ledger journal entries, making daily bank deposits, assisting with Fleet Management schedules and procurement; providing administrative support to the Fiscal Office staff and Controller, and performing special projects, such as creating, updating and reviewing policies and procedures, for the Assistant Controller and Controller.

Required Qualifications:
The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of bookkeeping, general accounting practices, as well as administrative support experience. The Accounting Assistant must be able to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple projects; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-discipline team environment; exhibit sound judgment in making decisions; and maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters. Demonstrated skill using computerized financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite software for spreadsheets and communications applications is required. An Associate Degree, with emphasis in accounting, is preferred.
Salary Minimum: $42,000.00
