Randolph-Macon College

Randolph-Macon College seeks applicants for an Administrative Assistant for Advancement. The Administrative Assistant for Advancement reports to the Executive Director of Annual Giving and provides day-to-day operational support primarily to the Office of Annual Giving, and secondarily to the Office of Alumni Relations. This position will require the performance of administrative duties of considerable scope including assisting with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship programs initiated by the department and will also have direct contact with college donors in person and over the phone. This position requires the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and maintain a positive attitude at times of increased workload.

1) Assists the Executive Director of Annual Giving with implementing a comprehensive, systematic solicitation program in the effort to achieve annual goals.

2) Assists in coordinating and overseeing all mass solicitation efforts within the department.

3) Becomes proficient in the Advancement Office’s database, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, and assists gift officers with database reports.

4) Assists in managing and keeping up-to-date the Giving Pages of Randolph-Macon’s website.

5) Assists gift officers with the planning and implementation of Macon Day.

6) Assists gift officers with end-of-fiscal-year outreach to alumni.

7) Tracks inventory of paper, envelopes, reply cards, and card stock for the Advancement Office and orders adequate supplies of each in a timely manner.

8) Collaborates with departmental colleagues, with other college staff members and with key volunteers to identify and implement emerging innovative, cooperative development giving program initiatives.

9) Recommends ways to support and advance the strategic goals of the department especially in the areas of donor retention and participation.

Required Qualifications:
Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree and non-profit experience is preferred.  Should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, persuasive writing and speaking skills, proficiency and a desire to work with computer databases and word processing, and an understanding and excitement about the process of solicitation and relationship-building through cultivation.  Individual should give great attention to detail, be able to meet strict deadlines, and have an appreciation for the purpose and values of a traditional residential college.  Flexibility and a willingness to accept occasionally night and weekend work are requirements.
Salary commensurate with experience level.
