As a VMP VISTA Member, you will join our team of full-time VISTA Members serving throughout Virginia. Our VISTA Members serve with partner organizations to support each agency’s internal capacity focusing on: Program Development, Volunteer Recruitment, Mentor/Mentee Training, Match Support, and Resource Development.

Service Description:
The Recruitment & Outreach Specialist VISTA will be based in the VMP office in Richmond, VA. In collaboration with Richmond based mentoring programs, VMP will lead a multi-year mentor recruitment campaign for the Richmond region in order to bolster the capacity of partner mentoring organizations. The VISTA ROS will be instrumental in setting the foundation for VMP to become a mentor recruitment and referral hub. The VISTA ROS will focus on developing public awareness strategies as well as setting the foundation for a multi-year, collaborative recruitment project. Tasks will include developing and implementing a system to handle all mentor referrals, developing metrics to measure successful mentor recruitment, creating materials and presentations on mentor recruitment, provide leadership and coordination to mentor recruitment activities, outreach, awareness campaigns, and tabling events throughout the year.

Required Qualifications:
College degree required. These positions are designed to be for individuals who are self-motivated and flexible in their work environment. Candidates should be comfortable meeting people and connecting a variety of agencies to the mentoring movement. They should be able to work closely with team members as well as independently on projects.
Living Stipend from AmeriCorps approximately $12,000 plus some benefits after service
