POSITION DESCRIPTION: Within the Community Engagement division, the team focuses on the day-to-day execution of our capacity building work with our nonprofit and community partners. Capacity building refers to our goal of supporting the learning and development of nonprofit organizations. This can come in the form of classroom and experiential learning, as well as via coaching and special events.

The Community Engagement Specialist position will have primary responsibility for supporting the work related to capacity building of nonprofits in the Richmond region. This position will also offer cross-functional assistance to other teammates within the division and Foundation to advance the Community Foundation’s priorities. This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position.

• Work with instructors to ensure classes are aligned with Foundation mission and values
• Assist with organization of curriculum and materials required for training
• Manage and execute set-up of classes and events
• Participate in learning needs assessment and bring idea for topics to the Community Engagement team
• Conduct post-learning survey and evaluation summary
• Conduct online and peer research as needed
• Manage the Learning Center (LMS; learning management system), to include:
o Course description
o Scheduling
o Enrollment
o e-learning materials
o Related fees
o Customer service and technical assistance with nonprofits
• Develop communications plans for announcement of classes; partner to develop related collateral
• Work with Finance to ensure that revenues and expenses are properly processed and are aligned with the budget
• Collaborate with regional partners (e.g.: funders) when event sponsorship is shared
• Coordinate meetings and agendas for gatherings of regional partners (e.g.: anchors, funders, cohorts)

Required Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience • 2+ years’ experience in a professional office setting; experience can include training, events management, communications, nonprofit organizations, volunteer management, or development office • Ability to collaborate and network with colleagues, both internally and externally; ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds • Effective writing and verbal skills • Strong math skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Ability to organize and execute on multiple projects in a short period of time; project management skills • Solid computer literacy in Microsoft Office products • Passion, enthusiasm, high energy
