Habitat for Humanity Powhatan

• Work with executive director to implement an annual community outreach, marketing and social media plan to engage all facets of the community
• Promote, help plan and implement events such as Home Fore for Halloween Golf Tournament, Saturday store events and the two new annual Young Leaders Guild events
• Update and manage the organization’s website and daily social media channels, especially before the ReStore sale days
• Work collaboratively to identify corporate, religious, school, civic/community and other potential partners
• Cultivate new prospects that align with the organization’s strategic needs
• Recruit, engage with and schedule volunteers. Follow up about their experience and show appropriate thanks
• Serve as one of the main “storytellers” of the mission with current and potential partners
• Work with staff and volunteers on direct mailings
• Work on developing the annual report with executive director
• Speak to groups and individuals in the community about Habitat for Humanity’s work
• Meet/greet critical repair team, build site team and ReStore volunteers in a rotation on Saturdays (up to two Saturdays per month)
• Log volunteer hours in a data system
• Other duties as assigned by executive director

Required Qualifications:
Qualifications: • Prefer minimum of two years of professional experience working with nonprofit social media, volunteers, donors and/or community outreach activities and prior work with Habitat for Humanity • BS or BA in communications, marketing, leadership or business preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered. • Prefer familiarity with local businesses, partners/suppliers, civic partners, church partners and others • Organized, self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively • Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communications • Ability to coordinate and lead meetings • Knowledge of website CMS, e-newsletter and social media platforms. Wix CMS, Google sheets, Microsoft Office programs and background in, or ability to learn, specialized programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro) • Passionate about the mission of Habitat • Need valid driver’s license with good driving record • Evenings and weekends when necessary (includes periodic evening meetings, weekend and evening events and the rotation of up to two Saturdays per month) • Ability to lift 50lbs (assisted) • Enjoys work in office environment usually, but flexible depending on project.
