Grant-Funded, 1 Year Position: Community Outreach Specialist

Temporary Part-Time, 30 hours per week

Summary: BIAV is searching for a part-time, temporary Community Outreach Specialist who will 1) work closely with the Executive Director and interns to coordinate a project focused on the intersection between domestic violence and traumatic brain injury (TBI), and 2) implement aspects of the association’s membership outreach program.
We are seeking a person who is excels in time management, is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and flexible, with a good sense of humor. This position provides some schedule flexibility, opportunities for professional development, and a fun work environment. This is a restricted, grant-funded position; continued employment is contingent on the availability of grant funds.

• Conduct community outreach activities focused on survivors of domestic violence and traumatic brain injury.
• Support assigned domestic violence and brain injury service providers by assessing their needs and providing technical assistance, training, educational materials, and coordination of cross-system collaboration activities.
• Act as liaison with assigned service providers, funder, and BIAV.
• Assist with overall grant management responsibilities including but not limited to reports to funder and assistance with data collection and program evaluation efforts.
• Assist with membership outreach initiatives.
• Curate and provide content for public awareness efforts.

Required Qualifications:
• Experience acting as a liaison and conducting community outreach and education to individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds. • Demonstrated strong, effective written and verbal communication. • Digital competency and skills in data entry and evaluation, specifically with Microsoft products. • Curiosity and motivation to investigate and solve problems and engage in critical thinking. • Bachelor’s degree in communications, sociology, psychology, public health administration, education, or a related human service field, with knowledge of human services system and disability issues; experience in brain injury preferred.
$20-$25 hourly
