Cristo Rey Richmond High School is opening in August 2019. We are looking for a Director of Advancement to assume responsibilities on July 1, 2018.

Our Mission
Cristo Rey Richmond High School is a Catholic learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose, and service. Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, integrated with a relevant work study experience, students graduate ready to succeed in college and in life. Cristo Rey Richmond High School will soon be a part of the largest network of high schools in the country that exclusively serve low-income youth.

The Position
Cristo Rey Richmond High School in Richmond, VA, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Advancement Director. The full-time Advancement Director reports to the President and works as a member of the CRRHS executive leadership team. The position is responsible for developing relationships with donors and the surrounding community to support the financial needs of the school. Provide supervision of the Enrollment team and communications/public relations programs of the school; activities that create a supportive climate for enrolling and fundraising. This is all in an effort to advance the mission, vision, and values of Cristo Rey Richmond High School.

The Director of Advancement’s primary responsibilities include:

– Plan, manage, and implement all development fundraising initiatives;
– Plan, manage, and implement annual giving, major gifts, campaigns, grants, and events. This includes, but is not limited to: prospect identification and research, cultivation, solicitation, gift processing, and acknowledgements;
– Supervise the marketing, recruitment, and retention of students by the Recruitment staff. This includes, but is not limited to: open houses, school visits and tours, registration, and marketing materials;
– Promote understanding, acceptance, and support of the vision, mission, and objectives of the school;
– Work closely with the advancement committee of the School Board to set and achieve goals and objectives;
– Provide leadership for the marketing and communications functions of the school with external resources.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required (Master's preferred), with a minimum of 5 years of successful major gift development or related experience; - Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic college preparatory education; - Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals; - Ability to build a team, effectively recruiting and managing volunteers; - Superior communication skills, ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, donors, trustees, school administration, the media, and alumni; - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and the Internet; - Experience in a faith-based school or not-for-profit environment preferred.
