United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg

United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg seeks a creative, focused and analytical marketing and communications professional to support the development and implementation of marketing, communications and public relations strategies on behalf of the organization.

The Manager of Marketing & Communications, who will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications, will play a key role in developing and implementing cross-platform marketing campaigns to promote United Way in general, and its fundraising and programmatic efforts in particular. Campaigns will utilize a blend of communications vehicles, including email marketing, web, social media, direct mail, etc. In conjunction with the Director, the Manager will work with departments across the organization to develop and maintain a year-round communications calendar and plan and will execute communications strategies throughout the year. In addition, the Manager will handle regular website updates, and will work with departments to ensure United Way’s website is updated in conjunction with the latest communications goals. The Manager will also be in charge of collecting, analyzing and reporting on key data (e.g. email statistics, website traffic) and making recommendations to improve future efforts.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years’ of communications experience, preferably in a nonprofit or agency setting. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in the field of marketing, communications, public relations or journalism. Superior written and oral communications skills required. All candidates should be strong writers with a portfolio of recent samples ready to share. Knowledge of and experience using popular email marketing platforms to launch and manage marketing campaigns required. Experience with ClickDimensions a plus. Knowledge of and experience using popular web content management platforms required. Experience with Word Press a plus. Experience with fundraising and donor engagement campaigns preferred. Strong project management skills required. Candidates should possess a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
