The READ Center Program Assistant works with the READ Program Manager to provide educational services to students and training and support to volunteer tutors who work in the READ programs.

• Provide administration and clerical support to READ program staffing including data entry, conducting student intakes, ensuring training materials are prepared, and supporting student, teacher and tutor needs.
• Act as the first point of contact for educational programs at THE READ Center by responding to inquiries from prospective students, current students, staff, tutors, partner program coordinators and the public.
• Develop, manage and coordinate volunteer tutor program including training, background checks, placement of new tutors in class, one-to-one (student/tutor) matching, monthly communications, professional development, addressing complaints and solving problems and tutor council.
• Develop, analyze and report metrics to measure tutor and student success.
• Develop partnerships with community, faith, nonprofit, government and businesses organizations for recruitment.
• Support Education Program Manager and education staff as needed to accomplish educational program plans.

Required Qualifications:
• Strong organizational and project execution skills • Development and delivery of training • Experienced in managing and supporting volunteers • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive (sheet, forms, etc.) and internet database systems • Able to use social media including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to promote READ volunteer opportunities • Professional attitude • Good listening skills • Experienced in compiling/analyzing information and writing reports • Exhibits flexibility and innovative approaches to tasks Must Be Able To: ● Understand and effectively convey how essential volunteer tutors are to The READ Center’s ability to deliver instructional services to adult learners; ● Insightfully assess strengths and weaknesses, troubleshoot, and where needed thoughtfully suggest alternate approaches to problem solving; ● Devise and adjust where necessary and periodically review and revise of work plans and projected progress goals. • Have a flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend training needs and community events.
Salary:
$36,000-$47,000
