Program Manager – Leadership and Engagement – CSR


Lead and execute leadership offerings designed to building a thriving, economically and socially inclusive Richmond region, including ChamberWomen and Leadership Lab. Develop, implement and evaluate programs that meet the emerging needs of the both the community and Chamber members, and fit with the strategic focus of the organization. Update Board and Executive Committee of key activities and outcomes.

• Lead the development, promotion and execution of ChamberWomen programming:
o Recruit, support, and facilitate ChamberWomen’s Leadership Team and respective sub-committees; organize annual leadership retreat; partner with leadership team to create an ongoing calendar of ChamberWomen programming
o In partnership with the marketing team, develop a robust communication strategy to ensure active participation from sponsors, individuals and corporate subscribers; help execute marketing using social media, website, email and handouts
o Execute all program logistics, including location, catering, invoicing, billing, collection and coordinating needed equipment and relationships with vendors
• Monitor ChamberWomen subscription acquisition and retention activities:
o Ensure personal contact and correspondence with existing subscribers and proactively seek out new subscribers; direct members to appropriate volunteer and engagement opportunities
o Administrative responsibility for updating Chamber records
• Responsible for setting and meeting revenue goals; actively strategizes, retains and solicits sponsors; works with VP to ensure alignment with sponsorship strategy
• Proposes and administers program budget; oversees billing
• Serves as primary staff liaison to appropriate Board committee

Leadership Lab
• Lead the promotion and execution of Leadership Lab application-based program:
o Work closely with external leadership development partner to plan schedule of workshops and coaching sessions for two class cycles each year
o In partnership with the marketing team and leadership team, develop a robust communication strategy; execute marketing using social media, website, email and handouts
o Manage application process including recruitment marketing materials, promotion of application deadline and qualifications, selection of participants, and communication throughout the process for those accepted and declined
o Develop and administer program budget; ensure collection of payment happens for all participants before program begins
o Program management responsibility including serving as primary point of contact for communication, catering, on-site support, etc.

Other Assigned Leadership Program Tasks
• Propose new and engaging programs related to strategic initiatives, including the exploration of an annual signature event opportunity
• Proactively develop relationships with members, community partners and HR professionals to advance Chamber-led efforts to drive leadership, diversity and inclusion, and corporate social responsibility outcomes
• Explore unique partnership and collaboration opportunities to create increased demand for programs, and to ensure high quality content and community engagement
• Work closely with other Chamber staff on the intersectionality of programs/audiences to ensure program offerings are viewed along a continuum, and feeder opportunities are leveraged
• Assist Leadership team and broader ChamberRVA team with other programs or events happening throughout the year

Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications and Marketing, Business Administration or a related field; or equivalent experience KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Strong passion and commitment to building a thriving, economically and socially inclusive Richmond region • Demonstrated experience in event, program and project management required • Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Illustrator, Access, Outlook) and various other applications as needed for the role • Sales and marketing experience preferred SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This role requires a high level of external engagement with the community. Qualified applicants will have demonstrated experience interacting interpersonally and giving presentations with small and large groups. Must have reliable transportation to locations across the region and flexibility to work early mornings and late evenings.
