Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity

The ReStore Volunteer Coordinator will work specifically to further support a sustainable ReStore Volunteer Program in conjunction with our overall Habitat Volunteer Program and initiatives. They will help to focus volunteer recruitment efforts specifically for both ReStore locations that will increase the number of ReStore volunteers, Tuesday-Saturday. This engagement and development will save in overhead costs and increase revenue through being able to process donations more efficiently, and maintain strong volunteer relationships.

• Effectively schedule volunteers to meet the volunteer needs of ReStore
• Ability to lead projects and manage volunteers
• Work with ReStore staff to provide on-site orientations to volunteers when they arrive & be a point of contact on site for ReStore volunteer needs as needed
• Monitor and assess the volunteer process and suggest program/process improvements
• Maintain relationships with ReStore volunteer partners
• Further develop a volunteer recruitment strategy by demographics and location
• Grow a weekday crew of volunteers for both ReStore locations
• Attend local events and meetings to represent ReStore volunteer opportunities
• Maintain a volunteer appreciation program for the ReStore
• Work in conjunction with Director of Community Engagement to build upon initiatives related to Community Engagement programs.
• Manage the court community service program for Richmond Habitat for Humanity.
• Develop volunteer projects related to local and National Service Days initiatives/events

Required Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Commitment to Habitat for Humanity's mission, structure and principles • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing and public speaking • Proficient computer skills using MS Office; including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and tasks with minimal supervision • Marketing and outreach experience is helpful • Knowledge about community development helpful • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse variety of community partners; including homeowners, volunteers, local officials, members of the financial community, public agencies, other non-profit organizations and the Board of Directors • Attendance at evening and weekend meetings and activities, as requested • Ability to lift up to 20lbs • Ability to withstand occasional non-climate controlled weather conditions to include, heat, cold or wet temperatures • This position will require being on site during days worked MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum High School education, some college or college degree preferred • At least one year of nonprofit or volunteer coordination experience preferred • Valid Driver’s License
