The Virginia Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Office seeks to build capacity of Virginia Community Action Agencies. Community Action Agencies change people’s lives, embody the spirit of hope, improve communities and make America a better place to live. Community Action Agencies are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other as they move from poverty to self-sufficiency. The VISTA Leader will work directly with the State Coordinator of the Virginia CSBG VISTA Program. VISTA members serve in Community Action Agencies around the state, both urban and rural. The VISTA Leader, serving out of the Virginia CSBG office in Richmond, will lead and support Community Action VISTAs.

This position is a full time, one year commitment that will begin in December, 2017.

Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position the candidate must have served previously for at least one (1) year as a VISTA Member, AmeriCorps members, or Peace Corps volunteer. The candidate needs to have demonstrated exemplary skills and leadership in community service. AmeriCorps VISTA Leaders must have demonstrated leadership ability to work constructively with community volunteers, supervisors, sponsoring organizations, and the low-income community.
Living Allowance of approx. $14,500 for the year.
Living Allowance, Choice of Education Award or End of Year Stipend at the end of Service Year, Relocation Allowance.
