RVA Rides
Program Description
In order to spur greater awareness and understanding of the links between public transportation and health in metro Richmond, RVA Rapid Transit is working on a project entitled “RVA Rides: Health & Mobility in Metro Richmond.” This project aims to hear, record, and broadly share the views and interests of current bus riders, as well as others living beyond its present reach, in regards to public transportation and its impact on their everyday lives. RVA Rides places particular emphasis on public transit’s connections to social determinates of health, including access to work, nutritious food, community, recreation, affordable housing, and routine medical care.
This project entails four phases: rider surveys, focused community conversations, in-depth interviews, and video creation.
